Frequently Asked Questions

As a railroad transloading company

We understand that every business has unique transportation needs. That’s why we offer a variety of services to meet the diverse needs of our clients.

We require 48 hour notice for a single rail car arrival. For multiple cars we ask for a 5 business day notice.

We do offer multiple car discounts and extended storage breaks for single or multiple rail cars.

Our facility is monitored with security cameras, has one gate locked entrance/exit, and is staffed with a full time attendant on site.

If you find that your rail car needs longer storage, contact your customer service rep to discuss options. We would be happy to extend your service agreement if there are no conflicting schedules.

Arrivals times can vary, but are determined by the agreement with your carrier.

Many of the service disruptions center on accumulations of snow and ice. On the track, snow mostly constitutes a problem in switches, as well as at crossings – so once the snow is cleared, the problem is solved.

We will need the following information to set up rail car storage for your business. Name, Email, Phone, Length of storage, Number of cars, Car owner/lessor, Car type, Car size, Empty or loaded, and Commodity type last carried.

Moving freight by rail is more reliable in most weather conditions, and economical when you factor in fuel costs. One railcar is equivalent to 3 or 4 truckloads.

Our railroad spur connects with the Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway. W&LE interchanges with three Class I carriers and 14 Class II and Class III railroads.
